Mountain Rain
It was a pale grey evening,
It was a sweet, shy smile,
It was her tender eyes longing,
That I traveled all these miles.
It was the gathered clouds weeping,
Her touch caressing my pain,
That I handed her my heart that night,
In the arms of a soft mountain rain.
The mountain rain poured all around us,
The mountain rain swept us away,
The mountain rain came down to hold us,
Hold us in this place, that mountain rain.
It was a hidden new moon,
It was an unspoken word,
It was her tiny hand trembling,
That led me to her secret world.
It was slow fire dancing,
It was my fingers through her mane,
That she handed me her heart that night,
In the arms of a soft mountain rain.
The mountain rain poured all around us,
The mountain rain swept us away,
The mountain rain came down to hold us,
Hold us in this place, that mountain rain.
And the wind tossed out an ember
And laid it at our feet,
And there rose a glow from deep within,
Just as our two hearts came to meet.
As the mountain rain poured all around us,
The mountain rain swept us away,
The mountain rain came down to hold us,
Hold us in this place, that mountain rain.
Hold us in this place, that mountain rain.
Hold us in this place, that mountain rain.
