The World of Day One

Zeu and Etys live on Kyb, one of three planets nested together in the vast solar system. At certain times, the atmospheres of the three planets intersect, allowing for safe travel between them. Like most young Kybians, they yearn to explore the other two orbs, Bas and Iap, eager to experience the Basians, whose skin is much darken than their own, and the Iapians, whose lighter complexion and slender eyes also spark their curiosity.

 Of even greater interest to the two young adventurers is the much larger and mysterious planet known as Blue, which sits high in the sky like the Sun. Every few years it's course aligns with Kyb and travel is possible. Zeu and Etys want desperately to go there, but the Thinkers - the leaders of the people of Kyb, Bas & Iap - forbid it. The Thinkers select a team to explore Blue, but it is only after the first successful trip is completed do they realize the significance Blue holds upon their lives.
