I began writing songs in high school and fiction at the ripe old age of 45, at the tail end of a long and successful career as a Certified Public Accountant and computer software developer. Designing custom software had been my creative outlet in recent years, pulling me away from my life long hobby of songwriting, until one day when I was asked to write an article for the local business journal on the Y2K bug. It was my first attempt at this type of writing, but it turned out well and it appeared on the front page of the journal within weeks of its completion, the editor commenting at the time that “he didn’t know accountants could write." Inspired by the experience, I began jotting down ideas and quickly focused on one in particular, the concept of human migration to Earth. However, science fiction - spaceships and aliens, as most people think of it - was not my cup of tea and, being that I was raised with one brother and three sisters, the plot naturally evolved into a coming of age story filled with family values and conflict. In 2005, DAY ONE was published and a new author was born. Deciding to take a break from the hectic world of finance and technology, I now write full time (and occasionally sell my custom software to balance the checkbook) from my home in Syracuse, NY.
